student/co-op SURVEY ASSISTANT
Positions: Student/Co-op Survey Assistant
Locations: London, Carleton Place, North Bay
Reports to: Field Supervisor/Survey Crew Chief
RESPONSIBILITIES & JOB DUTIES
The position includes, but is not limited to:

Assisting Survey Crew Chiefs in the field
-
Use and maintenance of Robotic Total Stations, GNSS survey instruments, Digital Levels and 3D Laser Scanners
-
Ensuring safety and quality control policies are adhered to
-
Plan and map interpretation
-
Assist in preparing field notes and sketches
-
Technical support for internal and external clients
-
Support to and coordination with drafting-mapping division
-
Field equipment and vehicle maintenance
-
Field data downloads and uploads
-
Perform duties in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Callon Dietz Health & Safety program and internal safety protocols.

Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
-
Enrolled in a Diploma or Degree in Geomatics, Engineering Technology or related field from a recognized institution
-
General knowledge on the proper use of: Robotic Total Stations, GNSS survey equipment, Laser Scanners, Digital Levels, and general computer software/applications (Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Able to work in a team environment and independently
-
Strong work ethic
-
Good communication skills
-
Valid driver’s license
